Reflection Paper

Twitter is one of the most convenient social media ever next from Facebook and Instagram. Also, most usable and best way for communicate to other people. Nowadays, some citizen are using twitter account for their daily lives getting a News, Celebrity gossip, Knowledgeable and Charity information. But some of point there had a worse scenario about the Twitter either other social media. One of network channel here in the Philippines (GMA) they had a slogan about the social media “Think before you click” to their campaign against Bullying and other form of Harassment.

A lot of young children and teenagers are victim of their own shadow because of what they post. Example what happen to some teenager in US because of simple post in a twitter she get instantly celebrity and controversial. Many of her classmate and schoolmate thinks of here is a stain or a slut. This is the big bang to her entire life that will totally change. Based on a survey bullying or self-destructive tweets may high the cause of numerous suicide.

However, there is still benefits that will be gets in the twitter to lighting up of our moods like how our favorite celebrity and how they doing? We can get closer and meet more about them but in a proper use. Self-destructive Tweet will never been erase or delete instantly it’s still continuing grown as far as one netizen continuous wrote something they regretted.

I also experienced twitter, and sometimes I just blurt out what I feel I clicked the post button and I'm not careful on what I've said and sometimes it does backfire on yourself.

5 things I learned

  1. Psychological effects of a poorly worded tweet should serve as a reminder to everyone who works with words for a living – words in this modern era have the power of sticks and stones. And they will hurt you.
  2. Think about your audience. Ask yourself whether you’d want your boss, your co-workers, even your Mom to read that tweet. And, if you’re in doubt, come ask.
  3. It’s only after the tweet has gone live and people start to comment that things get real. The reaction can happen immediately or it might take a day or two. But once someone has captured a screenshot of the offending tweet, your goose – for all intents and purposes – is well and truly cooked.
  4. Social media platforms are powerful beyond what their users initially imagined. It can change people’s lives – and that’s no joke.
  5. If you call yourself a professional writer, you must take responsibility for every word that you write. There are no exceptions. Twitter, like everything else, will follow you to your virtual grave. And don’t write anything you wouldn’t want your mother, your editor or your potential audience to read.

5 integrative questions

     1. Why are people who claim to be professional writers and communicators still misusing Twitter and what, if anything, can be done about it?

     2.  Why what was the reason “Twitter shaming” gives the users these tweets long-term damage?

     3.  Where such a seemingly innocuous thing as riffing off of a news story could offend, upset, irritate and downright annoy so many people in such a short amount of time?

     4.  What’s the takeaway of Twitter these moments?

     5.  What desire to keep your own opinions and personality out of your Twitter feed?
